This is a pie chart, which clearly illustrates the
striking contrasts in proportions of 6 ways to get books by residents in a certain city in 2020. Buying books from the Internet ranked the first, accounting for 26.09%. Then, the next was purchasing in physical bookstores, with 19.80%, followed by reading e-books on mobile Apps, online and by borrowing from libraries, at 16.38%, 15.07% and 14.54% respectively. Finally, 5.82% of residents borrowed others' books to read.
Such a chart above can be associated with the impacts of the Internet upon the book market and people's reading habits. On the one hand, the past years were characterized by the rapid development of mobile Internet technology, which enabled purchasing books and reading e-books on Apps to gain popularity among the public. A case in point is that all the books I read were subscribed from the Internet. On the other hand, some readers, compared with others, still prefer visiting physical bookstores or borrowing books from libraries.
As a senior who is preparing for the national entrance examination for postgraduates, I buy books online but read in libraries, which can bring me atmosphere of learning, arouse my passion for reading and help me be absorbed in books.
