Given is a pie chart which clearly illustrates thestriking contrasts in the expense of residents during Spring Festival in acertain city of China. The expense on new-year gifts are the largestproportion, which accounts for 40%, followed by transportation and gatheringdinners, with the same 20%, ①and finally comes the total of other expenses,at 20%.
②Such a scenario ③can be naturally associated with the importance of SpringFestival in China. Then, what results in the differences above?④ For onething, traditional Spring Festival celebrations are best characterized by thefact that it is an occasion for family members, relatives and friends to sendgifts for each other and express wishes, which enables presents to be thelargest part of expense. A case in point is that a host of parents will givelucky money, as gifts, to kids. The pie chart above clearlyillustrates the percentage of citizens’ expenditure during the Spring Festivalholidays in a certain city of China. Overall, the spending on New Year giftshas the largest proportion, with 40%, followed by transportation, gathering andeating together, ①as well as other aspects, which account for 20%respectively.
②This phenomenon ③can be attributed to two reasons. First and foremost, ④it isgenerally acknowledged that giving New Year presents when visiting family andfriends has long been a tradition in our culture. Therefore, most residentschoose to buy gifts so as to express their gratitude. 对比点评：
①优化版的表达更为地道，account for是描述占比更好的用法。
②scenario是指对未来将发生事情的设想，基础版的用法不准确，直接This phenomenon即可。
③优化版中attribute to用于描述归因，是更地道且稍微正式的用法。
④基础版中这句话有一些偏描述的内容，而且还举了一个例子，在考研作文字数150字的限制下，不建议这样写，提到过多无关内容，影响论证的流畅性。优化版的表述更加精炼，论证更加直接。这里建议学生在长难句的使用时要兼顾论证的直接性考研英语最高分，不要堆砌内容。
⑤同④的情况类似，an increasing number ofpeople are inclined to...,which may well explain why...更流畅自然，逻辑衔接紧密且简洁。
⑥基础版 228词，优化版 174词，优化版更接近题干要求。
⑦整体来说，优化版可以给到A等级，基础版差不多是B-
